BOGE’s airtelligence provis 3 nominated for UX Design Awards

Nominated for the UX Design Awards: the comprehensive visualisation of the airtelligence provis 3 clearly displays, for example, the status values and consumption processes of the compressors, which can be retrieved from anywhere.

With the airtelligence provis 3, BOGE is setting new standards for the networked control of air compressors. The latest version of the intelligent control allows an unlimited number of compressors, compressed air networks and accessory components to be controlled and managed proactively based on consumption. A fully-integrated, high-performance industrial PC makes the system a complete solution that is ready for connection. It is operated via an intuitive touch display or remotely, for example, via a mobile terminal. All machine data can be called up at any time, more or less in real time. The user interface design, developed together with our partner macio GmbH - which is target-oriented, state-of-the-art and clearly laid out in spite of extensive configuration options – has now been nominated for the UX Design Awards.

The previous version, airtelligence provis 2.0, controlled the interaction of up to 16 fixed or frequency-controlled compressors and a limited number of accessory components. With the airtelligence provis 3, the hardware and software are dimensioned in such a way that unlimited compressors and components can be connected and operated. As Ethernet is used as the communication standard, it is possible to revert to existing IT infrastructures, and fast and simultaneous communication can be carried out between several participants. Thanks to the new Modbus interface module, the airtelligence provis 3 also easily integrates external compressors. In order for the communication between products from different manufacturers and types of device to work safely and reliably, the BOGE control uses the OPC UA open data format.

The airtelligence provis 3 can also control different compressed air networks, a new feature on the market - in the healthcare sector, for example, separately controlled networks often need to be operated alongside a sterile air network. The intuitive touch operation also makes it easy to use: detailed compressor view, profile view or pressure gradient can be depicted on the optimised 15.6 inch display. However, irrespective of whether on the integrated display, or on the PC, tablet or smartphone – the comprehensive visualisation is web-based and can, therefore, be opened up and operated from anywhere, and displayed equally clearly on any terminal or device. It shows status values more or less in real time, as well as consumption flows. A new feature is energy reporting according to the DIN ISO 50001 standard. In accordance with efficient energy management, the user can trace the energy costs for operating the compressors at any time.

BOGE’s intelligent control, airtelligence provis 3, links together data from an unlimited number of compressors and components.

Solve any situation independently

The high-performance control algorithms of the airtelligence provis 3 select the optimum combination of compressors and additional components proactively based on consumption. In this way, they avoid energy-intensive over-compression and optimise operation for load run or idle times. The optional airlogic software module also improves the efficiency of the entire compressed air system: supply air, circulating air and used air valves, as well peripheral components – everything is simply and intuitively connected together and controlled according to status and/or temperature.

The airtelligence provis 3 has been nominated for the international UX Design Awards being held in September for its outstanding user experience. These awards are how the International Design Center Berlin recognises pioneering innovative solutions which augment the added value of technologies.
