In the food industry, it is particularly important that oil-free compressed air is used. Otherwise oil residue from the air can mix with the food and spoil the final product. Oil residues can also block components such as valves and actuators, bringing  production to a halt. The jobs of air compressors in the food industry, meanwhile, are manifold: oil-free compressed air controls and adjusts valves for the filling of packages. In addition, air compressors are used to push food products such as milk or cocoa powder through pipes.
